Common questions
Where are my documents stored?
Only on your iPhone, inside Hushdoc's private storage. Hushdoc never uploads scans, recognized text or signatures. If you use iCloud or computer backups for your iPhone, those backups include Hushdoc's data the same way they include other apps.
Does text recognition need the internet?
No. Text recognition uses Apple's on-device Vision framework and works in airplane mode.
How do I move documents to a new iPhone?
Restore the new iPhone from an iCloud or computer backup of the old one. To move single documents, open them and use Share PDF or Save PDF to Files.
I deleted the app. Can I get my documents back?
Only from an iPhone backup made before you deleted it. We have no copy, because nothing ever leaves your device.
How do I restore Hushdoc Pro?
Open Settings → Restore purchases while signed in with the Apple ID you bought it with.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Hushdoc. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid renewal.
How do I get a refund?
Apple handles payments and refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Is my signature legally binding?
Hushdoc places an image of your signature on the page. It is not a certified digital signature. Whether that is acceptable depends on who you are sending the document to.
Can I turn off analytics?
Yes. In Settings, switch off Share anonymous usage. Analytics never include document content. See the privacy policy for details.
